FIU SBDC Webinar: Business Continuity & Disaster PreparednessDate: June 19, 2018Time: 10:00 am - 11:00 am
My name is Brian Van Hook and I am the Associate Director of the Florida SBDC at FIU. The 2018 hurricane season begins June 1st. Hurricanes are one of nature’s most powerful and destructive natural disasters that we face. It only takes one to change your life. However, it’s not just major hurricanes that we need to worry about here in south Florida.
According to the Institute for Business and Home Safety, business interruptions could cost small businesses about $3,000 per day. Whether the disaster is a simple power outage, road construction, flooding, or a more large scale incident such as a hurricane, it can impact your daily operations and jeopardize the future of your entire business.
With that in mind, I wanted to send you information on an upcoming disaster webinar series that Florida SBDC at FIU is hosting along with the Beacon Council and the Miami-Dade County Office of Emergency Management.
